Tudor was one of our absolute favourites at Watches and Wonders this year — but it seems they were not done. Right in time for the Miami GP, they launch yet another novelty: the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26”.
It is the follow-up to last year’s Carbon 25, and the recipe is the same: a complete carbon-fibre case dressed in this year’s Visa Cash App Racing Bulls livery. What separates this version from its predecessor is the colour — the blue is gone, and instead the yellow from the VCARB 03’s engine cowling has taken its place on the minute track, the sub-dials, and the date disc. Against the “racing white” base it genuinely looks great — sharper and sportier than last year’s version, if you ask us.
The carbon fibre is still the backbone
The whole 42 mm case (14.3 mm thick) is in carbon-fibre composite — including the one-piece fixed tachymeter bezel — while the screw-down crown, the pushers, and the caseback are in black PVD-coated titanium. Light, durable, and consistently executed, with 200 metres of water resistance. The dial is a layered construction alternating brass discs and carbon-fibre sheets, and the sub-dials and date frame are in carbon too.
Inside sits the calibre MT5813, Tudor’s manufacture chronograph based on Breitling’s B01 architecture. COSC-certified, with a column wheel, vertical clutch, silicon balance spring, and a 70-hour power reserve, with a tolerance of −2/+4 seconds per day. Solid numbers.
Arvid on the wrist
The watch is worn by VCARB drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad — the latter something of a favourite of ours given his Swedish roots, even if he formally races under the British flag. Following Arvid through the season with a Tudor on the wrist is a rather nice bonus.
