When Gérald Genta’s design language meets modern haute horlogerie, something emerges that feels both familiar and new. With the launch of the Masterlink Boutique Edition, Gerald Charles takes the next step in the development of its first asymmetric model with an integrated bracelet — now in a more sculptural and exclusive interpretation. The new reference ML1.0-SSDB-00SR-SBDP-BTQ is a limited edition made solely for the brand’s own boutiques, and represents a deepening of the Masterlink concept introduced in 2024.

Design that unites the Maestro heritage with a contemporary expression
The Masterlink was born as a modern interpretation of the iconic Maestro case, complete with its signature “smile” at 6 o’clock. The Boutique Edition reinforces that heritage through a darker and more technically advanced appearance. The 38 × 38 mm case in 316L steel has a distinct asymmetric shape that immediately recalls Gérald Genta’s creative signature. Despite its presence on the wrist, the watch measures only 7.99 mm thick — clear proof of the brand’s focus on elegance and wearability. The integrated bracelet is constructed entirely in-house and follows the case’s lines in a seamless transition; screws and fasteners are discreetly integrated to create an unbroken impression. For optimal fit, three lengths plus a micro-link for fine adjustment are offered.
Darkblast® — a signature finish with depth
Case and bracelet are treated with Gerald Charles’s own Darkblast® finish — a patented powder-based technique that gives a matte, deep, and contemporary surface. The result is an expression that feels both sophisticated and robust, while preserving the character of the steel. Working with steel as a noble material was a conviction of Gérald Genta, and here that philosophy is carried forward through a more dramatic, architectural interpretation.

Black two-layer dial with clear verticality
The dial is built in two actual levels — not stamped, but constructed in separate layers to create genuine depth. The black sunburst finish reinforces the vertical feel of the design and creates a living play of light depending on the angle. Details such as a white “chemin de fer” minute track, rhodium-plated baton indices, and baton hands with white Super-LumiNova contribute to high legibility without compromising the elegant whole.
Ultra-thin manufacture movement with micro-rotor
Through the sapphire caseback you can see the in-house caliber GCA1000 — an ultra-thin automatic movement, developed with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, with an eccentric micro-rotor decorated in a honeycomb pattern. At just 2.67 mm thick (30.59 mm in diameter) and with a 50-hour power reserve, Gerald Charles clearly demonstrates its technical competence. The movement consists of 176 components and 29 jewels, runs at 3 Hz, and is fitted with Incabloc shock protection and stop-seconds. The decoration includes Côtes de Genève, perlage, and colimaçon on the bridges — details appreciated by collectors with an eye for finish.
Built for everyday and for collecting
Despite its elegant profile, the Masterlink Boutique Edition offers 100 metres of water resistance and a screw-down crown with a Clous de Paris pattern. The sapphire crystal is anti-reflective on both the inside and outside, further reinforcing the premium feel that runs through the model. The watch comes with a five-year warranty via the brand’s Smart Warranty system, and the bracelet’s hidden butterfly clasp carries a hexagonal plate engraved “GC.”
Available only in selected boutiques
This Boutique Edition is reserved for Gerald Charles’s own sales channels, available exclusively at the JR Nagoya Takashimaya Watch Maison in Japan and the brand’s atelier in Geneva, with the price available on request. By limiting distribution, a more personal and in-depth experience is created for collectors seeking something out of the ordinary. For those drawn to integrated bracelets, asymmetric design, and genuine manufacture craftsmanship, this is a model that deserves a closer look.
