Summer is coming to an end, but the MoonSwatch hype is still very much alive. Just as the season transitions, Swatch has surprised us with news of a follow-up to the previous success, but this time in collaboration with Blancpain.
For anyone interested in watches, the incredible success of the MoonSwatch, as it’s fondly called, hasn’t gone unnoticed. This collaboration between Omega and Swatch has been captivating the watch world for the past two years. It remains relatively elusive, and once you manage to get your hands on one, the hunt for the perfect MoonSwatch Strap begins. This ongoing pursuit has kept the discussions and excitement around the watch alive and thriving.
So, What’s Blancpain X Swatch?
That’s the question everyone is asking right now. As we write this on September 6th, we don’t know much more than it’s in a similar vein as the previous MoonSwatch collaboration but with a new partner: Blancpain and Swatch.
What Can We Expect? – Speculations
As soon as this news hit, the internet started buzzing with speculations. One thing most agree on is that no one expects it to be a quartz watch. It’s widely believed that the Swatch Sistem 51 movement will be used for this timepiece.
There’s also strong confidence that it’s a take on the Fifty Fathoms model, as the released images feature the crown of this watch.

So, what do we think about this collaboration? We love it! It’s a somewhat more niche release compared to the previous MoonSwatch, which appealed to a broader audience. This one feels a bit more special because Blancpain, while not as well-known as Omega, holds a special place in the hearts of watch enthusiasts with its equally impressive timepieces.

The stores look ready. They all swapped out the MoonSwatch box and exchanged it for a yellow pelican case with the Blancpain X Swatch logo.
